Ernst Ruska's Room -Human sized Laser Scanning Scope-

Instead of electron beam, the system uses laser light for scanning the object and measuring intensity of the ambient light of the room by photo diaod. Computer controls the scanning position and the position of the intensity on the screen image, such as like a SEM(Scanning Electron Microscope.)
SEM is a surprizing technology to make images without optical lenses. It is questioning what is the meaning of seeing. And more surprizingly, when you want to see more detail by using SEM, the object will be electrostatic charged by the beam of electron of SEM. This means the sensing power (electron beam) can destry the obejct which we want to see more.
It reminds me a danger of seeing, and involvement of seeing by new media technology.
Within this piece, it trys to realize a human scale experiment of SEM. Actually we can not use electron beam in our living space. That is why I used laser beam instead og electron beam. At the end, human's movement affected to the images which was made by counting environmental brightness and humans are a part of this exhibition, environment.
